Adware 

A form of malware, the main idea is to show the end user the unsolicited ads. It's a low security risk once comparing it to spyware,trojan, and other virus protection system, but it   does collects information about the user and does not shows ads. Many adware programs write to the Windows Registry and even after you install the program, the registry entries are still there.

COM/ActiveX

Component Object Model (COM) is a type of technology, that allows applications to share and reuse common functionality. One of the most common COM technology is for ActiveX objects (or controls), which are visual components used in programming. COM/ActiveX objects can be used for malicious purposes as well.

File Extension Record

It's one of the type of enries in the Registry Cleaner Windows. 

They usually stored in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT registry key and they are used to associate a file extension with an installed application for example: doc is associate to Word Files ? so you can change or add new file extension to your registry cleaner.

Hives

A basic unit that ment to arrange the information of the registry cleaner.

It's the main organizational structure and the section in the registry cleaner that contain Keys and Values for each record in the registry cleaner.

INI file

Before the registry cleaner was developed the INI files were the place to store the Keys and Values for developers to write their settings and commands or any type of data they needed.

Registry Cleaner was first introduced in windows 95 and use of INI file was already starting to drop  in this days almost no one use the INI file.

Key

Together with values, keys are the building blocks of the entries in the Windows Registry. Keys can have subkeys. For instance, in the following example HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows, the key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and Software/Microsoft/Windows are its subkeys.

Keylogger

It's one of the most dangerous type of malware and that's because it's capture keyboard strokes and record everything a user has entered.It can capture passwords, credit card numbers and all type of personal data you are working with.

Most of the time it work in stealth mode and can only be found on the registry cleaner window.

Malware

A group of software that written to make evil to your computer. The most popular form are viruses and worms also spywares and trojan and many more.

It can hide in your computer and almost not be found only on the registry cleaner and very often the entries there are the only visible trace of it on the computer.

.REG files

.REG files are system Windows files. The function of a .REG file is to update the Windows Registry. It is possible to have multiple .REG files and each of them deals with a different part of the entries in the Registry.

RegEdit.exe

Executable file that launch the Registry window and gives you the option to edit your entries and fix problems on your computer.

Registry Backup

A process of creating a copy of your registry window.You can use the backup programs everytime you installing a new program or making changes in the Registry Window and you are not sure about them so you can backup and restore it whenever you wish for.

Spyware

Spyware is one of the most common types of malware. Spyware, as its name implies, spies on the user, gathers data about user behavior and sends it back to its creators. As all types of malware, spyware usually comes bundled with a useful, most often free, application and installs without the knowledge and consent of the user. The Windows Registry is one of the places where traces of spyware can be found.

Trojan

One of the fast rising malware common types.It called after the famouse Trojan Horse mentioned on the Troy war.It sneak to your computer from behind and start sending information and transmit data about your activity.

The windows registry is the best place to find them and get rid of them.

Registry Values

Values, together with keys are the two building blocks of Windows Registry. Values are name-data pairs and they are stored together with the keys but are referenced independently of them.

Windows Registry

The Windows Registry, often called only the Registry, is the place where global settings and options are stored. The keys of the registry contain information about the operating system, the hardware, the applications on the computer, together with data about users and their settings. If the Windows Registry is damaged, this could make it impossible to use Windows.
